5 Steps for Perfect Curls

Your curls aren't "difficult." It's your routine that's not right. If they feel dry, frizzy, or shapeless, often a simple thing is missing: the right sequence and products. The point isn't to do more, but to do better, respecting the structure of your curl.

When the routine is correct, frizz is reduced, and the shape lasts even for days after. No miracles are needed, only method. Here are the 5 steps that truly make a difference.

The routine that truly makes a difference

1
Shampoo
Use a shampoo specifically for curly hair. Massage only the scalp, not the lengths. The lengths are already drier — stressing them makes frizz even worse.

Why? The lengths need hydration, not additional cleansing.
2
Conditioner
Apply to wet hair, from mid-lengths to ends. Detangle gently. Curls need more hydration — this step is not optional.

Leave on for at least 3-5 minutes to allow absorption.
3
Rinsing
Rinse with lukewarm or cold water. Do not rub with a towel — pat dry. Friction breaks the curl pattern and increases frizz.

This is the most underestimated step, but it makes a difference in definition.
4
Leave-in or Defining Cream
On still damp hair, apply a leave-in or defining cream. Distribute with your hands and define the curls. This product locks in moisture and shapes the curl.

Don't wait for your hair to dry — apply it immediately.
5
Drying
The real central point of the entire curly hair routine. Avoid excessively high temperatures and always use a diffuser on low intensity. Direct heat damages the hair structure and increases frizz.

If you can, let it air dry halfway, then use the diffuser only to finish.

The most common mistake? Using excellent products but in the wrong order. Conditioner should not be applied before shampoo. Leave-in should not be applied to dry hair. Defining cream does not replace hydration. Each step has its place — respecting the order is half the result.
