How to Best Use Your Hair Products

Hair care starts with small daily gestures. Here are 4 simple yet essential tips to make the most of your shampoo and see visible results from the very first wash.

Using shampoo might seem obvious, but technique matters. Applying it correctly makes the difference between clean, shiny hair and stressed, dull, or weighed-down hair. It doesn't take much—just the right approach.

The 4 Essential Tips

1
Wet hair thoroughly
Use lukewarm water (not boiling) to wet from roots to ends. Water that is too hot can stress the hair and scalp.
Hot water opens the cuticles — it's good for shampooing, but rinse with cool water to seal in shine.
2
Apply shampoo to the roots
Massage gently with your fingertips (not nails). This helps circulation, removes impurities, and prepares the scalp to better absorb treatments.
Massage stimulates microcirculation and promotes the distribution of natural sebum along the lengths.
3
Second shampoo if necessary
If there are residues of styling products, sebum, pollution, or if the hair is very dirty, a second light shampoo can be helpful. In professional protocols, this is often expected.
The first shampoo removes superficial dirt, the second cleans deeply and allows active ingredients to work better.
4
Partial rinse before the mask
Rinse all shampoo thoroughly, but leave hair damp (not dripping wet) before applying the mask. The more water there is, the more diluted the mask risks becoming.
Gently squeeze out excess water before the mask — active ingredients penetrate better when hair is damp but not soaked.

Remember: Using quality products is not enough if the technique is wrong. These 4 simple steps make the difference between an effective routine and one that wastes product without visible results.
